Week 3 Waiver Wire

September 20, 2021

After another week of football, we saw a TON of injuries. Here is my Week 3 Waiver article where I give you some names that can help your team if you were one of many that got hit with injuries. These players are rostered in 60% or under in Yahoo leagues. Check it out, and let me know what you think.

QB Justin Fields (51% Rostered)
The Justin Fields era is about to begin in Chicago. Andy Dalton left week 2 with an injury, and although Fields didn’t do much in relief (6/13, 60 yards, 10 carries, 31 yards), Fields should be at the top of your waiver claims. A mobile QB is dangerous in fantasy and with the weapons at his disposal, Fields has the upside to be a top 10 fantasy QB every week.

QB Daniel Jones (19% Rostered)
Not a sexy name, but if you want a QB that can take care of the ball and be productive not only through the air but on the ground. Danny Dimes is your guy. Jones has completed 63.8% of his passes for over 500 yards and 2 touchdowns. Also, Jones has rushed for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns. If you’re in a deeper league, Jones should be added is a nice start in Week 3 against the Falcons.

Other Options: Teddy Bridgewater(17%), Derek Carr (25%)

Running Backs

RB James White (41% Rostered)
James White looked great against Miami acting as a safety valve for rookie QB Mac Jones on Sunday. He caught 6 of his 7 targets for 49 yards and added 20 yards on the ground and a score. The Patriots have a tough match-up in Week 3 against the Saints, but White should be able to be effective especially in PPR formats.

RB Tony Pollard (53% Rostered)
Pollard has looked great the last two weeks. He finished Sunday’s game with 140 total yards and has looked to be the Cowboy’s best back. We know it’s Elliott’s backfield but they seem to be splitting snaps, and Pollard has carved out a significant role for himself this year. He is a versatile back that can catch the ball, even with a healthy Zeke, Pollard can be used as a flex option until he proves us wrong.

Other Options: Sony Michel(60%), Michael Carter(50%)

Wide Receivers

WR Sterling Shepard (NYG)- 56% Rostered
This is the second straight week we have seen Shepard lead the Giant’s receivers in targets, receptions, and yards receiving. The #1 option for Daniel Jones, Shepard now has 19 targets over 2 games. This is the last chance to get him on your roster so be aggressive.

WR Zach Pascal (15% Rostered)
Pascal has proven to be a very reliable target for this Colts team  In the first two weeks, Pascal has nine catches and three touchdowns. With both TY Hilton and Parris Campbell missing time with injuries, Pascal can be an effective flex play until further notice.

WR Rondale Moore (33% Rostered)
This was the breakout game we have been waiting for. Moore went off for over 110 yards and a touchdown against the Vikings. The Cardinals are a pass-heavy offence and throw enough to have three productive WR for fantasy. Moore is a locked and loaded flex play every week.

Other Options: Henry Ruggs(34%), Darnell Mooney(45%), Tim Patrick (22%)

Tight Ends

TE Dan Arnold (4% Rostered)
Dan Arnold finally came to life in Week 2, and that connection with Sam Darnold from the pre-season showed up on the stat sheet. Arnold finished the day with 3 catches for 55 yards on 4 targets. The Panthers face a Texans team in Week 3 who have allowed on average 11fpts to the TE position through two weeks. If you’re looking for a TE to stream this week, throw a dart at Arnold this week.

Other Options: Dawson Knox(6%)
