Thanks Week 8 Waiver Wire
October 26, 2021
Another Week of football is in the books and as usual, we were hit with a few significant injuries. In this Week 8 Waiver Article, I’m giving you a few names of players that are producing every week and need to be owned in all leagues. These players can also help you add depth to your rosters to get through the bye weeks. These players are rostered in under 60% of Yahoo leagues. Check it out, and let me know what you think.
QB Daniel Jones (16% Rostered)
Jones was solid in a blowout win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. He finished with over 200 yards passing and one touchdown, and added almost 30 yards on the ground. The Giants face the Chiefs this Week who have struggled as of late. Jones should be fostered this week and is a solid streamer especially if he gets some of his key receivers back.
QB Jamies Winston (50% Rostered)
Winston is a nice streamer this week in what should be a very high scoring game against the Bucs. If there is one way to beat this great Bucs defense, it’s through the air. They are allowing almost 270 yards passing to opposing quarterbacks. Winston could have all his weapons back for this game making him a must add this week.
Other Options: Carson Wentz (37%), Trevor Lawrence (40%)
RB Kenneth Gainwell (20% Rostered)
Gainwell found the end zone in Week 7 after Miles Sanders left the game with an ankle injury. He finished the day with over 70 total yards and a score on 10 touches. Although it was Boston Scott who led the team in Carrie’s, it’s expected that Gainwell will be the starter in Week 8 if Sanders does miss time. Gainwell should be the most added this week especially with a very favourable match-up against the Lions coming up. He will be an RB2 with upside especially in PPR leagues.
RB Brandon Bolden (6% Rostered)
Bolden put up some stellar numbers in Week 7. He played the role that was vacated by James White after his season ending injury. He caught six of his seven targets for almost 80 yards and a touchdown on Sunday. Bolden doesn’t see many carries, but in PPR he is a must add. The Pats play the Chargers in Week 8 who have struggled against the run which makes Bolden a solid flex play this week.
Other Options: Peyton Barber (2%), Rashaad Penny (33%)
WR Allen Lazard (4% Rostered)
Lazard has back-to-back weeks where he has found the end zone He finished Sundays game catching five of his six targets for 60 yards and a score. Lazard has carved out his role as the #2 receiver on a very productive offense which has value in fantasy. The Packers will have to throw a lot to keep up with the undefeated Cardinals on Thursday night. Look for Lazard to play a big role once again this week and moving forward.
WR Russell Gage (10% Rostered)
Gage finally made his way back into the lineup after an ankle injury held him out most of the year. He immediately stepped in and produced catching four of his six targets for almost 70 yards and a score. Even if Gage is the number three option in this passing game, with how much the Falcons throw, there is still plenty of opportunities for Gage to produce every week.
The Falcons face a struggling Carolina Panthers team in Week 8 making Gage a nice flex play.
Other Options: Rashod Bateman (32%), Khalid Raymond (3%), Hunter Renfrow (49%)
TE C.J. Uzomah (19% Rostered)
If you have been lucky enough to stream Uzomah the past few weeks, you are definitely happy with his production. He caught another touchdown on Sunday, his fifth in four games and added 3 catches for 90 yards. If Uzomah is out there on the wire, he should be added and is a must-start in Week 8 against a brutal New York Jets team.
Other Options: Mo Alie-Cox (17%)
